2024 is the Year Of The Dragon In 1982 John Wetton, Geoff Downes, Carl Palmer and Steve Howe became the founding fathers of super group Asia, responsible for a string of multi-million selling albums and chart topping hits across the globe. Asia’s self-titled1982 debut album was the biggest selling album in the world. The band dominated the airwaves and for many “Heat Of The Moment”, “Only Time Will Tell” and “Sole Survivor”, amongst others, were the soundtrack to their youth. Another multi-million seller, “Alpha” followed in 1983 and in 1986 “Astra” competed the trio of MTV era hits.  Greg Lake briefly joined the band for a Japanese tour where Asia’s show from the fabled Budokan was the first inter-continental simulcast.  In 2006, the founder members reformed and released several new albums before John Wetton’s untimely passing in 2017.  Since John’s passing, Geoff and Carl have toured with Sam Coulson, Billy....

Focus

With their unique brand of progressive rock, Focus manifested themselves at the start of the ’70s as the most successful and appreciated of all the Dutch pop-rock exports. Fronted by founding member Thijs Van Leer, and best known for their hits “Hocus Pocus”, “House of The King” and “Sylvia”, as well as critically acclaimed albums ‘Moving Waves’, ‘Focus 3’ and ‘Hamburger Concerto’, the iconic Dutch music masters are back with their tenth album, which is guaranteed to please their legions of fans! After a comeback in the early 2000’s, which resulted in the well-received albums ‘Focus 8’ and ‘Focus 9’, the band regrouped with a fantastic new line-up. Along with Thijs van Leer on vocals, flute and keyboards, back on the drums is famed Focus drummer Pierre van der Linden, who joined the group on their second album ‘Moving Waves’ in 1972. Martin Turner Ex Wishbone Ash

M A R T I N   T U R N E R   Born in Torquay on October 1st 1947, Wishbone Ash’s founding member Martin Turner began playing guitar at the age of fourteen, before switching to bass. Together with his brother Glenn he formed his first band the Torinoes in 1963. The Torinoes soon built up a respectable reputation in their local area, playing covers of the hits of the day. By 1966 the band had evolved into the Empty Vessels and Glenn and Martin were joined by drummer Steve Upton. In 1969 the band turned professional and relocated to London.   Following Glenn’ s departure, Martin and Steve – under the auspices of manager Miles Copeland – auditioned for new musicians. Ted Turner and Andy Powell were recruited and Wishbone Ash was born.hroughout the classic first decade of Wishbone Ash’s career, Martin stamped his identity on each Wishbone….

Curved Air are an English progressive rock group formed in 1970 by musicians from mixed artistic backgrounds, including classical, folk and electronic sound. The resulting sound of the band is a mixture of progressive rock, folk rock, and fusion with classical elements. Curved Air released eight studio albums, the first three of which broke into the Top 20 in the UK Albums Chart, and had a hit single with “Back Street Luv” (1971) which reached number 4 in the UK Singles Chart.
